Sunday Morning Worship Service begins at 9:00 a.m. Our address is 10099 N. State Road 37, Elwood, IN 46036. The church is located at the junction of State Roads 13 and 37 on the south end of town.
ALL ARE WELCOME TO JOIN US!
In addition to serving Elwood, St. John is close to neighboring communities (minutes drive to the church): Frankton - 9; Atlanta - 15; Lapel - 17; Arcadia - 18; Windfall - 18; Cicero - 19; Tipton - 19; downtown Noblesville - 25.
Advent continues this Sunday with Holy Communion worship beginning at 9:00 a.m. in the sanctuary.
Following worship, join us in Old Fellowship Hall across from the Sanctuary for coffee, snacks and good conversation.
Please note that choir will meet this Thursday, the 19th, and Bible Study will occur Friday, the 20th.
There are two opportunities for Christmas Eve, Tuesday, December 24, worship:
4:00 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church
6:00 p.m. at our sister congregation, Lutheran Church of Our Blessed Savior, 309 W. Washington St., Alexandria, Ind.
Please join us at either of these services as we celebrate the arrival of the infant Jesus!
If you signed-up for a poinsettia(s) to beautify the sanctuary for Christmas, they are $7 per flower. You may place the funds in the offering plate marked "Christmas Poinsettia" or give it to David P.
St. John has a strong history of feeding its Elwood neighbors and one very important way is through our End of Month Meal Ministry. Our dedicated volunteer team prepares and delivers 550+ meals once each month.
The next meal is Saturday, December 28. We only are able deliver meals in Elwood. If you need a meal delivered or wish to pick up a meal, please call the church at 765-552-6125 between 9 and 10 a.m. on Saturday, the 28th.
We welcome volunteers to help cook on Friday, the 27th, and package/deliver on Saturday, the 28th. If you are interested in helping out, please call the church at 765-552-6125 and leave a message.
St. John's Bible Study meets on Fridays at 1:00 p.m. in Old Fellowship Hall.
Additionally, weekly readings may be found on the back of the Celebrate insert inside the Sunday bulletin and daily readings are available at the ELCA website below:

S.A.M. Sherilyn has resumed her "Exploring Lutheranism" class after worship the second Sunday of each month once coffee is served in the Old Fellowship Hall. All are welcome!
Even though it has been several months since these devastating storms occurred, the need is still great for those impacted. Lutheran Disaster Relief continues to seek donations to respond to people throughout Florida, Tennessee and the Carolinas.
Please visit the ELCA website at Hurricane Response - Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (elca.org) for more information on how you can help.
In the Narthex between the entrances to the Sanctuary and the Old Fellowship Hall is a red basket for items to support the Elwood Food Pantry.
This is another way we help to feed and serve our neighbors in need. Please bring in an item or two regularly and help fill the basket.
Sarah Williams, graduate of both St. Olaf College and Indiana University School of Music, leads the congregation in music on our small but mighty Wicks organ.
The combined Our Blessed Savior and St John Choir sings monthly during a worship service. Practices are Thursdays at 7:00 p.m. and are held at OBS, 309 W. Washington St., Alexandria, Ind.
St. John has a garden with plots available to anyone in the community who would like to grow vegetables!
If you are interested in a plot for next season, please call the church office at 765-552-6125 and leave a message with your contact information.
Gardener's Meals have concluded for the 2024 growing season. Please check back for when they will resume in the spring.
The ELCA encourages congregations to participate its Day of Service as a response to God's love for each of us by making an impact in the community. St. John's first service project in 2024 was a fine day of fellowship, serving others and being served in return!
Many thanks to everyone who worked to make the 2024 Spring Market a success - the planning committee, the vendors, all the various volunteers, musicians and, most importantly, everyone who attended!
Check back in the spring for more information about the 2025 event.
